COVID-19

I take health and safety very seriously in my practice.  I am fully vaccinated and have a current vaccine passport displayed in my clinic room.

Before you come to the clinic, have a read of the following information so you are informed about how it operates in the different alert levels.

Whenever the government announces a change in alert levels, you will find the relevant information about our clinic operation here.  I am constantly reviewing and updating this information as more comes to hand.  You will also find a brief status update on the homepage.

You can find out general information about New Zealand's alert level system here.

During alert level 1

The clinic is open at this level, with some requirements in place.

Only come to your appointment if you are healthy and well

This means no symptoms such as:

  • cough and/or sore throat

  • sneezing and/or runny nose

  • headache

  • fever - temperature of at least 38°C

  • shortness of breath

  • loss of smell or taste

Nothing else infectious i.e. cold, flu, other viral infection including gastro bugs.

If you have any of these, please STAY HOME and let me know ASAP so I can cancel your appointment.  Also, if you are in a high-risk group: chronic medical condition and compromised immunity, chronic health conditions and over 70 yrs, living in an aged care facility, pregnant and in your 3rd trimester, it is also recommended to postpone your massage.

Please note: If you turn up when unwell/experiencing any symptoms of being unwell I am not able to treat you. No exceptions.  If I get sick I am unable to work, and this impacts other clients and my business.   To make this easier for you, I don’t charge for appointments that you have to cancel at short notice when you are sick.  But the sooner you let me know, the easier for me.  Things happen, we get colds and bugs, don’t feel bad about having to cancel.

Sign in using the COVID TRACER APP when you arrive

I have one of these on the window, inside on the waiting room door, in the clinic room and in the bathroom.

Use the hand sanitiser available

This is available in the waiting room and the clinic room.

Masks are optional

you are welcome to bring and wear a mask during treatment if you feel more comfortable doing so.

I may wear PPE during treatment

More than likely this will be a mask when doing face-up work when I am working in close proximity around the head and face and especially when doing intra-oral work (inside the mouth), in which case it would be mask, gloves and face shield.

I carry out a screening on myself daily

This is so I’m checking if I have any symptoms as well.  If I am unwell I will cancel my clinic so I avoid transmitting any illness to clients and I’ll let you know ASAP.

I have thorough hygiene measures in the clinic

This includes cleaning down high-touch and other contact surfaces between clients, using PPE as required, changing linens between clients, using hospital-grade cleaner and isopropyl alcohol, providing bins for client belongings.

You can find out general information about what level 1 means here.

During alert level 2

The clinic is open at this level, with these requirements.  These may change, depending on any updated information from the Ministry of Health.

Only come to your appointment if you are healthy and well

  • cough and/or sore throat

  • sneezing and/or runny nose

  • headache

  • fever - temperature of at least 38°C

  • shortness of breath

Please don’t arrive early as the waiting room is closed

Wait in your vehicle until just before your appointment time, or if on foot/bike please arrive just a minute or two before your appointment – this is to reduce contact time and any risk of you being in contact with other people.

Sign in using the COVID TRACER APP when you arrive

I have one of these on the window, inside on the waiting room door, in the clinic room and in the bathroom.

Use the hand sanitiser available

This is available in the waiting room and the clinic room.

I take client’s temperature using a non-contact infra-red thermometer on arrival if needed

This is just to check temperatures in case of fever.

Please bring a mask to wear

This is to minimise droplet spread/spread through the air during the session.

I wear PPE during treatment

In most cases this will be a mask, to minimise droplet spread an protect myself and my clients.  I may wear additional PPE if I feel this is necessary, I will explain why at the time.

I carry out a screening on myself daily

This is so I’m checking if I have any symptoms as well.  If I am unwell I will cancel my clinic so I avoid transmitting any illness to clients and I’ll let you know ASAP.

Water is not provided in the clinic during level 2

Please bring your own water bottle in your bag or leave it in your car for after your appointment.
