Season's Greetings

This past year has had it's challenges and also opportunities for working differently. I am incredibly grateful to all of those clients who have supported me over the past year - through buying vouchers and offering support during lockdown, being keen to book in once I was able to re-open in level 2 and 1 - thank you for hanging in there! Also to my fellow massage therapists in Wellington and around the country and the stronger networks we forged in getting through that time and beyond together (you know who you are!). To my mama, brother and family who offered us places to stay when our major rebuild was going on and we had nowhere to live (I wouldn't recommend rebuilding during a pandemic!). To friends who offered moral support and encouragement. To Aaron and his amazing team at Kerr Construction and Carolyn at Click Architects, both making the vision a reality and creating a wonderful space for working and living in.

My studies in Pain & Pain Management at Otago University have continued and I completed another paper this year. My major piece of work for the paper, where I looked at 'treatment' experiences and chronic pain of intersex people (people born with variations in sex development) received great feedback from my amazing and inspiring lecturer Bronnie Lennox Thompson, who has encouraged me to get it published, so that will be a summer project for me. It will also become my Masters research topic, when I get to that point with my studies in a few more years. I am grateful to the two generous people who so kindly allowed me to interview them and help share their stories in my assignment. Once I've got it published, I will share the work wider. I am loving my postgrad studies and using what I am learning more and more in my work clients with chronic pain. While I am not sure exactly where this will lead, I am hopeful that it will be of benefit to people who live with chronic pain.

I am now closed for the holiday period and taking a longer break, re-opening on Tuesday 26th January 2021.

Online appointment bookings are already open for 2021, so existing clients can book in via the Book Now button at the top right of the right. My new client waitlist for the first part of next year is already full so I've decided to close the waitlist for new clients temporarily. If you are wishing to become a new client, I suggest you check back in March.
